History
Optinova was established by the Swedish fluoropolymer specialist company Habia Technofluor AB in 1971, as a production site for the Habia group. At the beginning, Optinova produced various types of tubing and cables from different fluoropolymers, mainly PTFE and FEP, for all types of applications. Our first contacts with the medial device field were already established from day one, since one of the first products was IV-catheter tubing for a large customer; a customer that still enjoys a good relationship with us today. In 1988, Optinova was bought by local investors and the focus on the medical device industry was strengthened. Today this is Optinova's single area of devotion. History in brief

PTFE multilumen. | | 1987 | IV-catheter tubing in TPE-U, PTFE dispersion coated wire and FEP multilumen. | | 1988 | Local investors and Optima Scandinavia buys the company. Optima Scandinavia is established in Uppsala, Sweden, to function as the sales and marketing operation. Mediman was bought and moved to Godby. | | 1989 | Implementation of first MPS system. 103 employees. | | 1990 | Multilayer extrusion. Name change to Optinova Ab. We start to use Super Office as CRM system. Mediman sold off. | | 1993 | Automated flaring of PTFE tubing | | 1994 | Braided catheter shafts in Pebax. Additional clean room area( 1100 m2) , total area 3300 m2. Optinova hire Sales Manager for market outside Europe, Optima Scandinavia continue with sales and marketing for Europa. | | 1996 | ISO 9002 certification. Automated assembly of packaging coils. | | 1998 | Change to the new MPS system "Monitor". Centerless grinding. Representation in China. | | 1999 | Welding of soft tips on braided shafts. | | 2000 | Factory area 4600 m2 (clean room area 1900 m2).
